Ron’s musical beginnings were playing trumpet and French horn in his Junior High School marching band before picking up his first guitar at 15. Inspired by older brother and Roadmaster bass guitarist, Steve Simmons, Ron started a Rock&Roll band with high school buddies. One of those buddies was Roadmaster drummer Craig Williams with whom he has shared over 30 years of friendship and music. Ron has played in a variety of bands with both Craig and Steve but The Roadmasters has proven to be the most fun to this point. Before joining the Roadmasters in 2001 as rhythm guitarist, Ron assisted Barry Horton as assistant sound tech. “This was a big plus in learning the song list and various player styles.” Ron enjoys a large genre of music, spending time with family and friend and listening to his nephews bands (Stillborn and The Kevin Jacks Band). “My passion is my wife Vickie and daughters Jennifer and Shannon”.
